Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I order?

You can order several ways, such as by phone, fax, email, or creating a shopping list on our website and having one of our customer service representatives verify the order over the phone with you.

2. How do I set up an account?

An account will automatically be created upon your first order. Typically your company name or your last name will be used to identify your account for future orders or sample requests.

3. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, business checks, cashier’s checks as well as money orders. If you wish to be set up on terms, please call us at 800-266-7388 so that we can initiate a credit inquiry on your company.

4. Do you have a policy for sending out free samples?

Typically, we do send out free samples to companies, bakeries, restaurants, ice creameries, and so forth. We generally require a corporate tax identification number in order to ship out free samples.

5. Do you have any minimum order requirements?

You will never be required to purchase a specific dollar amount to purchase from Amoretti®. However, in the case of ordering Capriccio items, please understand that it is in your best interest to purchase half or full cases in order to obtain the best shipping rates possible.

6. Can I download recipes that include Amoretti® items?

We do have several recipes currently uploaded to our website with many, many more to be added as time goes on. Check back frequently to see if anything new has been added.

7. How do I use your products? Do I need to be a professional to do so?

Anybody can use our products. You do not have to be a professional pastry chef to do so. The only strong recommendation we offer is to purchase a digital gram scale in order to properly and accurately weigh Amoretti® items, such as compounds, extracts, food colors, and concentrates.

8. What are the differences between compounds, extracts, concentrates, and swirls?

Amoretti® often offers the same flavor profile in varying levels of concentration. Generally our least concentrated product offerings are our marbleizing swirls and straight-use ingredients followed by our compounds. Our most concentrated product offerings are our extracts and alcohol concentrates. Any one item is not necessarily better than another – it all depends on what product you wish to create. It’s also important to note that swirls and compounds generally contain actual fruit (in the case of fruit flavors, of course), whereas extracts and concentrates are the essential oils of whichever flavor you are selecting. For example, if you want to make a strawberry cheesecake, you would probably want to use our Strawberry Compound as well as our Strawberry Swirl since both of those items contain the beautiful red color of the fruit as well as the fruit itself. Alternatively, if you wanted to flavor dark chocolate with the essence of strawberries, you would want to purchase our Strawberry Extract since it is more concentrated than our compounds (and you probably would not want to include strawberry fruit and red color in your dark chocolate. If you would, you could always use our Absolute Ruby Red food color to do so). Lastly, as an Amoretti® user, you must adhere to the use-levels for our items; the easiest way to do this is with a digital gram scale. This way you can easily measure your ingredients properly and ensure consistent results every single time. Generally, our compounds can be used at a use level of 3% to 5% by weight, which means that in any given 100 pounds of batter, you would use anywhere from 3-5 pounds of Amoretti® Compound. In the case of extracts, generally the use-level is 1% by weight. Our marbleizing swirls typically do not have use-level-percentages as they are straight-use items.

9. What shipping methods do you offer?

Typically your order will ship via FedEx Ground unless otherwise specified. We offer all kinds of delivery speeds from 3-Day, 2-Day, as well as several overnight options. Keep in mind some items must be kept refrigerated or frozen, and in those cases we ask that you select an expedited shipping option when completing your order.

10. What is the shelf-life of your items?

Generally, all Amoretti® items have a shelf life of one year from the date of purchase if stored properly at room temperature and away from a direct source of heat, such as sunlight or next to an oven. We do carry a select group of items that need to be refrigerated or frozen for optimal flavor and color profiles.

11. Do I have an account rep?

No. Any one of our customer service representatives will be more than happy to help you. Just create your shopping list online and submit it – one of our helpful staff will call you back promptly to review your order with you.

12. How do Amoretti® items differ from other brands?

When you purchase an Amoretti® item, you are using the very same brand that World Pastry Champions trust. Amoretti® is the only company with multiple national and international gold medals in both the National Team Pastry Championships and the World Pastry Team Championships. We do not claim to be the cheapest product on the market – only the best. Our product offerings are typically far more concentrated than anything you would find in your local grocery store, so you would need to utilize far less of it in your creations, saving you money in the long run while enhancing your masterpieces with truly world-class flavor.
